When entering the McDonald Theatre building, one is immediately flooded with past memories of stage and screen performances because the 1928 building is loaded with historical memories and elements reflecting the days of yore.

This (comfortable, familiar yet exciting) feeling is one that the Kesey Family, which owns and operates the theatre, has worked hard to maintain. Their own childhood memories of past performances at The McDonald Theatre are very vivid. With an extensive background rich in both the arts and business, the Kesey Family combined the love of art with business savvy into a formation that manifests the new face of The McDonald Theatre.

Hence, The McDonald Theatre has evolved into a performing arts venue, rich in theatrical history with a desire to capture live artistic movements of the times.

In maintaining the historical ambiance of the theatre, an effort has been made to emphasize the importance of community involvement. The theatre creates a platform for artists of all ambitions, repertoires, and ages to be displayed.

SEATING

In order to create a comfortable yet exciting live concert atmosphere, The McDonald Theatre will maintain various seating configurations depending on the band, such as:

Limited Seating Dance Hall Concert: Rather than confine guests to seats for concerts featuring bands with danceable tunes, the seats closest to the stage will be removed in order to allow for free flow of movement and dancing! The balcony will feature one or two bars and will be available to everyone 21 years of age or older.

General Admission Seated Concert/Event: All seats will be in position up to the stage, with seating available on a first come, first seated basis. For concerts, the balcony will be available to everyone 21 years of age or older. For other events, the balcony will be available to everyone of all ages.

Reserved Seating Concert: All seats will be in position up to the stage, with seating determined at the time of ticket purchase. The balcony will be available to everyone of all ages.

ADMISSION

Theatre doors generally open one hour prior to the announced time of each performance. The McDonald Theatre reserves the right to refuse admission or remove from the facility individuals that are disruptive to the performers or audience members.

Because most but not all concerts will feature an opening band, please plan on entering the Theatre soon after doors open. Times may be subject to change.

The McDonald Theatre is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is permitted directly outside of The Lounge.
